The specialised wine tour package includes two nights accommodation in the Cape Winelands, with the first night in Franschhoek and the second night in Stellenbosch.

Wine Tour Day 1

Visiting Paarl, Wellington and Franschhoek
•    Collect you at your accommodation in Cape Town at 9am
•    Shalk Burger and Sons for wine tasting and cellar tour
•    Diemersfontein for wine tasting – with their well known Coffee Pinotage
•    Seidelberg in Paarl for wine tasting and lunch, with beautiful mountain views and great wine
•    Fairview Estate for cheese and wine tasting and cellar tour, with great vibe and goat shed.
•    Drop off at accommodation in beautiful Franschhoek at 4 – 4.30pm
•    Dinner in Franschhoek which can be arranged with the guest house or you can dine out in the food capital of South Africa, where many famous local chefs are based. There are also cafes and bistros, and many tourist shops to trawl.   


Wine Tour Day 2

Exploring Franschhoek and Stellenbosch
•    Flexible time in the morning to explore Franschhoek with its picturesque mountain walks and quaint European town appeal. You may also want to visit the French Huguenot Monument.
•    Boekenhoutskloof wine estate for wine tasting at 10am – Boekenhoutskloof is a Top 5 Wine Estate in South Africa and is well known for award winning wines, particularly Syrah.
•    Lynx Estate for wine tasting and cellar tour – this is a personalised tour of a boutique estate
•    Moreson wine estate for wine tasting and lunch at restaurant "Bread and Wine".
•    Thelema wine estate for sort after wine tasting of noteworthy wines
•    At 4 – 4.30pm check in to accommodation in Stellenbosch and then have time to stroll around the university town to select a restaurant for an evening meal. Stellenbosch is named after Simon van der Stel and is one of the oldest towns in South Africa.

Wine Tour Day 3

•    Collect from Stellenbosch accommodation at 9am.
•    Rustenburg wine estate for wine tasting – they offer great South African red wines.
•    Kanonkop wine estate for wine tasting on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, Kanonkop continue to accumulate major national and international awards for their wines.
•    Spier Wine Estate for wine tasting and cheetah experience. Spier is Stellenbosch Wineland's most famous destination offering award-winning wines, and many other tourist attractions.
•    Lunch at moyo at Spier, with Bedouin tents and gazebos placed throughout the garden and creating a setting similar to a nomadic African village, with entertainment and delicious African food to match.
•    Avontuur wine estate for wine tasting, this is part of the Helderberg wine route.
•    Return to Cape Town

Day 1
Paarl and Stellenbosch
•    Wine tour guide collects you at your accommodation in Cape Town at 9am.
•    Visit Fairview Estate for cheese and wine tasting and exclusive cellar tour. Fairview estate is famous for their award-winning wines and cheese, as well as their goat shed. They also have a great variety of freshly baked breads and other ploughman country treats on sale in their tasting room.
•  Seidelberg Estate wine tasting and cellar tour – also see fascinating glass blowing demonstration.
•    Backsberg Estate for wine tasting and lunch under the trees with amazing views of the Simonsberg mountain. Taste great value wines, and don't miss the delicious roast potatoes!
•    Muratie Estate for wine tasting – this historic estate dates back to 1699 and is part of the Stellenbosch ward. Muratie also offers other attractions such as regular art exhibitions and bird watching.
•    Drop off at Cape Winelands guest house in Stellenbosch at 4.30pm.
•    Enjoy dinner in the quaint town of Stellenbosch, the local heartbeat of the South African wine industry. There are many interesting restaurants to chose from in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa’s oldest towns.

Day 2
Franschhoek and Stellenbosch
•    9.30am - Collect at accommodation in Stellenbosch after breakfast.
•    Visit Lynx Estate for wine tasting and cellar tour – incl. exclusive personalised cellar tour.
•    Short stop in village of Franschhoek, which was first inhabited by the French Huguenots in 1688.
•    Visit well known Boekenhoutskloof for wine tasting – this Top 5 wine estate has an award-winning and dynamic winemaker Marc Kent behind its many famous wine blends and creations, particularly Syrah.
•    La Petit Ferme for lunch stop, Franschhoek is South Africa's gourmet capitals and home to many well known local chefs.
•    Visit Thelema Mountain Vineyards for wine tasting - Another Top 5 wine estate nestled on top of the Helshoogte Pass outside of Stellenbosch, making it one of the highest and coolest wine farms in the Stellenbosch area.
•   Finally, savour Tokara Estate's distinctive wines from the steep slopes at the crest of the Helshoogte Pass, with magnificent vineyard views.
•    Back in Cape Town by 4.30 – 5pm.

The Cape Winelands tours run daily, calling at four South African wine estates and stopping to explore one of the historical towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl or Franschhoek. The full day wine tasting tour routes are changed each day, so if you opt to do more than one day of wine touring with Norman and decide to continue with another tour the next day, you will see a good variety of South African wineries and taste the best wines that the Western Cape has to offer. You can savour the experience and take in the sights without rushing. This relaxed wine tasting tour focusses exclusively on four Cape wine farms per day. We will stop for lunch in one of the local wine region towns or enjoy a meal while visiting one of the Cape's premium wineries.

The wine tours are conducted in small groups and the group size is limited 10 people, to give you more chance to interact with your qualified South African wine tour guide; and the entertaining tasting room staff at the wine estates in Constantia, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington or Franschhoek.

For your convenience, you will be collected for your full day wine tour and dropped off again at your Cape Town accommodation.

Prices of the wine tours include wine tastings and exclude the lunch. Meal prices range between R40 and R120 per person, and lunch is for your own pocket.

Half Day South African Wine Tours with excellent tour guide - R540pp for group tours of 2 or more

We offer the option of a shorter wine tour, if you don't have time for a full day wine tour as per above. Visit Constantia or Stellenbosch wine regions and experience wine tastings of premium South African wines at three Cape wine farms. The half day tour normally takes about 4.5 hours from collection to dropping you off at your Cape Town accommodation. The wine tasting prices are included in the wine tour price.
